BA Degree
An exciting three year acting course for students who want to train in acting and explore their own artistic practice.
The BA in Acting allows you to develop acting techniques through a series of different approaches to ensure that you are most employable and well placed to critique and contribute to the cultural landscape.
The training focuses on different aspects of acting; the actor performer, the actor director, the actor activist, the actor producer, the actor on film. You will take part in a varied programme of movement, text, voice and technique classes to
hone your training. You will explore how to stage text, create your own original work for a variety of audiences and work with new and emerging technologies and environments.
Alongside the training there are opportunities to shape your own path in live and recorded performance and to explore different ways to make work and forge a creative career. Together with dedicated tutors and visiting practitioners and companies you will train in a variety of genres and techniques and take part in an exciting number of projects and shows
within the college professional theatre and beyond.
Students take part in text based and devised shows working alongside the other pathways in hair and make up, production, technical theatre, costume and set design, prop making, musical theatre and dance. A demanding, creative and rich environment in which you can train as an actor and develop as a self sufficient practitioner.
Past projects have included Brighton Festival, Stand up Comedy shows, Shakespeare adaptations, web series, pilot work, outdoor shows, site specific work, collaborations with Hove festival, The Warren, Brighton Open Air Theatre, St Paul’s Arts Centre, commissions and collaborations with theatre companies.

The Acting Degree Course allows students to delve into their creative minds and create phenomenal performances inspired by well-known practitioners techniques. Not only is this course designed to help you strengthen your acting abilities as an individual; it gives you more of an understanding of how the industry works as a whole, allowing you to work collaboratively with other courses. It also puts you at the forefront of networking with workshops with experienced performers, directors and filmmakers. Not only will you progress as a theatre and film actor, you will attain various new skills such as creating showreels, voice reels, audition technique and skills to record self tapes.
